The world is witnessing the highest levels of human displacement on
record. Over 65 million people have been forced from their homes, among
them 21 million refugees, many of whom lack access to healthcare, food
and an education. And armed with this knowledge African leaders joined
their global counterparts in New York this week for the 71st UN General
Assembly, dubbed the “Summit for Refugees and Migrants”.
But with increasing unsafe migration claiming more lives by the day, will the latest commitments signal lasting hope for the world's displaced persons?
