Meaning: You can have a reason without a resultant action but you cannot have an action within an underlying reason. Nothing happens without a reason. You may not remember why you did something in the past, but there was a reason. Even animals have a reason for what they do. You may have heard of the popular riddle joke that asks "why did the chicken cross the road?" to which the correct answer is "to get to the other side".
