Russian Defence Minister General Sergey Shoigu and Tanzanian Defence and
National Service Minister Hussein Mwinyi have signed a
Russian-Tanzanian military cooperation agreement and a contract for
training Tanzanian servicemen at Russian military academies and
institutions of high learning.
The Russian defence minister said that the bilateral agreements were expected to contribute to further development of bilateral relations in the military and military-technological spheres. Shoigu said that the Tanzanian delegation’s visit to Moscow confirmed the existence of friendly ties between the military agencies and peoples of Russia and Tanzania.
"I am grateful that you are taking part in the Army-2016 International Military-Technical Forum for the second time," the Russian defence minister stressed.
"I would like to use this opportunity to express by genuine gratitude on behalf of my delegation for an opportunity to visit the Army-2016 forum," Tanzania’s defence minister said in turn.
