TCU hereby informs the public that this information is unfounded. Therefore it should be ignored.

This is to inform the general public that, it has come to the attention of the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) that some unscrupulous person(s) through social media, have maliciously fabricated incorrect and unfounded information to the public that, TCU will soon publish the list of students admitted into various higher education institutions for the 2016/2017 academic year. The same person(s) also claim that they can quickly assist those who need access to the list of admitted students for each respective institution at a fee of Tshs. 1,000/= (Tanzania Shillings One Thousand) paid through mobile money.


TCU hereby informs the public that this information is unfounded. Therefore it should be ignored.

TCU condemns the person(s) responsible for this unlawful act of publishing and disseminating wrong and false message that might have created confusion to the public. This act cannot be condoned for whatever reasons, and in this case, appropriate legal action will be taken against whoever is responsible for this fabrication of information.

The general public, university institutions and all stakeholders are reminded that all official communications and announcement by TCU are done through either written notices issued by the Executive Secretary or the Chairman as the case may be, or posted on TCU website www.tcu.go.tz. Accordingly, the public notices can be issued by TCU in the print media wherever and whenever necessary.
